Family Cape escape
The Captain's house is truly one of a kind. We have been vacationing in the mid-cape area with our extended family for many years. This house is unmatched. While it has been exquisitely renovated, it retains the warmth and charm of its deep historic roots. Beautiful wood floors, multiple fireplaces, exposed ceiling beams from forever ago. The kitchen and dining areas (with long tables indoors and out) are perfect for big family meals. The bedrooms are comfortable with quality beds. The many bathrooms make a large group stay relaxed and easy. We travel with our two mini Aussies, who were able to roam around the pool out back in an enclosed protected area (they were much happier here than at home in Brooklyn). The book collection is varied and interesting - almost anyone could find a book of interest (we found many). There are games and puzzles as well. Our gamer son enjoyed hooking up to one of the many tvs and slept comfortably in the bunk room. There are beach chairs and umbrellas in the shed, which we used on our trips to Corporation Beach and Harborview beach (both a short drive away, and Harborview is walkable). Really could not have asked for more.
